“There are moments in life that ask you to choose between logic and trust. This was one of mine.”

After Ezz came into my life and changed it in ways I never thought possible, there came a moment that quietly changed everything. One day, while standing with him, I felt the clearest message. It wasn’t spoken aloud. It wasn’t imagined. It was simply a deep knowing. “It’s time to do for others what I have done for you.” That moment became the beginning of Healing with Horses.

The interesting part is that I had never studied energy healing. I had never trained in trauma healing. I had never attended courses teaching me how to communicate in the way I was beginning to experience with horses. All I knew was that something far greater than me was asking me to trust. So, I did. I accepted what I can only describe as a calling. I didn’t know what the sessions would look like. I didn’t know which horses would become part of this work. I simply asked them to guide me.

In the beginning, I tried far too hard. I wanted to understand everything with my conscious mind. I wanted a structure. A method. A logical explanation. I thought I needed to lead the sessions. The horses had other plans.

One horse in particular changed everything. Her name is Rosa. It was during one of my very first Healing with Horses sessions. The client lay quietly while Rosa slowly approached.Without hesitation, she lowered her head and rested it gently over the woman’s heart. Within seconds, the client began crying. I had no idea what she was experiencing. As I watched Rosa standing so peacefully beside her, I closed my own eyes for a moment. What happened next is something I will never forget. I became aware of an overwhelming feeling of love. I saw the presence of the client’s mother, who had passed away when she was a child. What struck me most wasn’t sadness. It was love. A love that felt protective. A love that felt patient. A love that simply wanted her daughter to remember she had never truly been alone.

Throughout the session, everything seemed to return to that same message. Love.Relationships. Receiving love in a healthy way.

At the end of the session, I gently shared what I had experienced. The client looked at me in complete disbelief. She told me that while Rosa’s head rested on her heart, she too had felt the presence of her mother. She had seen her. She had felt her. Neither of us knew what the other had experienced until that moment.

I still remember sitting there afterwards in complete silence. Not because I had all the answers. But because I suddenly realised something profound. This work was never mine to control. It was never about me. It was about what became possible when I trusted the horses enough to lead.

Until then, I had been trying to understand everything with my mind. Rosa gently taught me something entirely different. She showed me that intuition cannot be forced. Healing cannot be manufactured. And the horses cannot simply become part of the session. They are the session.

From that day forward, I stopped trying to lead. Instead, I learned to listen. Every horse has its own way of communicating. Every session unfolds differently. Every person arrives carrying a story unlike anyone else’s. My role is no longer to decide where healing should begin. My role is to create a space where the horses can guide us there.

Looking back, I realise that my gift and theirs were never separate. They were always intertwined. I cannot imagine doing this work without them. And I don’t believe they would do this work without the human heart standing beside them.

Together, we create something neither of us could create alone. People often thank me after a session. The truth is… Most days, I leave feeling like I should be thanking the horses.

For their patience. For their honesty. For the way they continue to teach me, long after I thought I had learned enough. Every single session reminds me that healing doesn’t belong to me. It belongs to something much bigger. I simply have the privilege of witnessing it. And I only hope the horses know how deeply grateful I am for allowing me to walk beside them in this work.

With love, Nicole
